While clients are in this state, I can help them to focus on very specific thoughts or tasks. Only in this hypnotic state can many people freely explore painful thoughts, feelings and memories that may be hidden in their unconscious memory.
In this state, people are also more receptive and responsive to suggestions. For this reason, hypnotherapy can be very effective in helping to change particular behaviours such as smoking, overeating and nail biting and overcoming fears such as flying, needles, dental work.
